Aetherized Armor

"I don't think she'll be needing our armor, I've seen the punishment that suit of hers can take."   -Garret Hawkes on Ziedrich

Utility

Deployed for desolate worlds and occasionally used in combat for its defensive properties, aetherized armor is first and foremost a suit intended for hazardous environments, though variants which seek to empower its user are also known to exist in fringe colonies.

Manufacturing

A marriage between tailoring, smithing and runesmithing, Aetherized Armor requires components of exceptional quality to ensure the wellbeing of its operator. The resource cost associated with creating these suits limits the quantity of available models, as well as the specific measurements not lending itself well for usage by anyone other than the intended operator.
Parent Technologies
Access & Availability
Used widely throughout various colonies, aetherized armor has become a rarity in the Eteras Cluster save for select regions of Eteras Minor, as the knowledge and capabilities of runelinking has waned over the years.
Complexity
Aetherized Armor remains one of the most complex implementations of aetheric craft, requiring excellent tailoring, smithing and runesmithing capabilities to create a suit that often only fits a single, specific individual. Once constructed, the greatest issues tend to lie with finding an adequate means of powering the advanced systems the armor needs active to function.
Discovery
With the widespread implementation of Runelinking already in place, the onset of Astromancy required the usage of advanced systems in order to turn aetherial manipulation into an exact science. With the capability to open portals to other worlds beyond the Origin System came the necessity for explorers to step foot on the other end and survive the landscapes for which their mortal bodies were not equipped to survive.   This need was eventually met with the creation of Aetherized Armor, a fully sealed garb inscribed with intricate life-support runic systems that fed on a source of aether to remain powered for a limited time and keep its bearer alive in inhospitable surroundings.
