Azure Emergence Security Regiment
Founded during the Silence by Harald Hardrada, the Azure Emergence Security Regiment, was a private security force that operated on the planet of Alduriz Irabalo for almost a century before being acquired in a hostile takeover by Waytani Industrial Aeronautics.
The AESR were famed throughout the entire Traverse as tier-I operators, Waytani tasked them to securing WIA's properties and assets, greatly increasing their funding in order to acquire more and more officers. Eventually, as time passed and Waytani seized control of Alduriz Irabalo itself, the AESR started serving as Waytani's personal army and police force.
Considering themselves spiritual (if not literal) descendants of the Varangian Guard of Ancient Earth, the AESR have a strong lean towards ancient Norse culture. As if such was not obvious from their chosen moniker. In an effort to be as pure as possible to Varangian tradition, they have structured their organization around historical reports of how the Varangian Guard was organized. In essence this has resulted in the AESR being organized into three divisions:
The Comet Division: A collection of AESR soldiers and navy-men who operate fast patrol vessels and hold privateer contracts. They patrol the space lanes at the edges of Waytani space hunting pirates and claiming salvage from subdued vessels.
The Dirt Division: Heavy infantry ground troops utilized by Waytani during extra-solar military operations. Currently the bulk of this division is engaged in fighting in the Prope system.
The Home Division: The most prestigious and highest paid of the three divisions, the Home Division is directly responsibly for policing the Sha Gaura System and securing and defending Waytani Assets both at home and abroad. They are provided the best gear and training the AESR has to offer.
