Venomorte

Venomorte is a naturally produced, nonrenewable mineral that is found underneath Otiosus' soil. This resource was vital to pre-nuclear fallout Otiosus as it was the single source of energy that the Otions chose to use. It is said that when the Otions first discovered Venomorte it was as abundant as the number of birds in the sky. Venomorte powered everything in Otiosus, and still does, from household appliances to weapons of war. Moreover, only a small amount of Venomorte was necessary to power their technology; just a piece of it the size of 9mm³ could power a ranged weapon for 12 armed conflicts.
In modern day Otiosus, Venomorte has once again become the Otions' primary trade export. The raw energy output and efficiency of this mineral has made it integral for the development of new technologies that require vast pools of energy, and would undoubtedly be invaluable for a fleet of space faring vessels travelling through The Web. Due to this, many Worlds have begun to engage in extensive trade with Otiosus (with the exception of Sani'Tatem and Yilvyke).

Lancer Reserves

Lancer pilots also have a use for Venomorte, though they rarely are able to get their hands on this galactic rarity. By inserting a small portion of Venomorte into their mech, a pilot can do one of the following:

• Increase the maximum capacity and maximum uses of all limited systems (excluding systems that use CP) by 1 until their next Full Repair.
• Allow systems that use CP to be used twice per Full Repair until the pilot's next Full Repair. If a pilot has already used one of these systems they gain a second use until that pilot's next Full Repair.
• Return a mech's Repair Cap to its maximum value.

If a pilot is using Venomorte in one of these ways in the midst of a combat scenario they can do so quickly (A.K.A. using a Quick Action). However, if they use more than one portion between Full Repairs, they risk a reactor meltdown (A.K.A. they must roll on the Overheating Table). A Lancer can typically acquire Venomorte by trading for it, receiving it from an interested benefactor, or looting it off of an enemy that was too slow to use it themselves.
