Undertow
Undertow, formally referred to as the Republic of Undertow, is the leading governmental force in Donerth. The Donerthians have been a pleasant presence within the galactic bridges and the Pontision System's political landscape, cooperating and participating with the other Worlds at every step of the way. Specifically, they have worked closest with Malum Auctori and Nurn due to their political alliance: The Spider Alliance.
Despite Undertow's active participation in galactic politics and largely peaceful disposition, the history that they tell paints them as conquerors. Soon after rising to prominence in Titanica, they moved on Aphrodite, claiming it as their own. Some Donerthian and Mundian scholars also speculate that by taking a region of Donerth that was central to all Donerthian cities they were effectively able to cut other nations off from one another, and the downfall of Northern, Eastern, Southern, and Western Donerth can be traced back to Undertow's aggression centuries prior. Traces of this ethos can be found in more recent history, just preceding the construction of The Web (though still during the period of communication) Undertow's leader at the time attempted to transition its government into a principality. This resulted in numerous revolts that the leadership at the time had to placate, and Undertow has remained a republic ever since.
In the modern day, Undertow is headed by their prime minister: Calder. Operating under him are the mayors of Aphrodite, Titanica, and Lyonesse; Malik, Haera, and Ysabelle respectively. Unlike other democratic Worlds, Donerthian leaders don't have any kind of official council members or delegates that take on responsibilities on the prime minister's or a mayor's behalf. However, when making legislative decisions these leaders are still known to listen to those who may have a better understanding of a given issue, or those who may be affected the greatest.
Worryingly, there has been a cultural shift in Donerth that has many of the Undertow residents discontent with the current leadership. Some Donerthians have begun migrating throughout the galaxy, whereas those who have stayed have steadily begun making their anger known.
