Val'ul School of Magic

The Val'ul School of Magic was a famous magical education institution on the Veritian Leaf on the plane of Neih. Unfortunately, the school was lost in the Fall of Val'ul by the fires of Resentment, counted as one of the victims of the hubris of that city of mages. Fortunately, the school had a defense mechanism that would teleport the school far away when external threats pass through their initial defenses. It was meant to simply move it to some other part of the leaf, but the planar travel spell malfunctioned, and the school was transported to the Evdomniton Archipelagos in the plane of Hah.

Purpose / Function

The school was built as a college for the general population to study magic, as it was difficult for every student to have their own master. While the learning was top quality, many of the students viewed the institution as the way to get the attention of prominent wizards who may take them on personally. So, while outside Val'ul the degree is seen as an achievement, within the city it is more a mark of failure as the holder was not good enough to garner the interest of a master who would pluck them out of the system.
After the Fall of Val'ul, the surviving faculty and students who teleported to Hah were all fuddled. But it was not long until the local Hahlians figured the purpose of the building and incorporated it into their education system, renaming it the Tribute Academy.
