The Lady of Dusk was a succubus form the Nine Hells of the Lesser Realms. She travelled to the Veritian Leaf through the Gilburrow rift during the Demon Troubles and was the leader leading the demons in the Battle for Dusk. She died at the hands of assassins before the final defeat of the demons by Neih.

Personal history

Not much is known of her time prior to coming to the Veritian Leaf. What is known is her 8 years she spent in Dusk, slowly infiltrating the upper echelons of the city and essentially conquering it. In 1037 she met Sestycius, a cambion fleeing a group of demon hunters from the south, and with his help started her more large scale invasion of the leaf. Not only did she send her puppets south to Crossroads and Felicity to influence Tumultian government and market powers, as well as open smaller portals there to get more of her allies through, she also began her work on the city wide tear she planned over Dusk. She had three powerful altars given to her by Asmodeus for this purpose, which took another couple years to fully finish and open the tear over the city. Her plans were mainly successful, as her Demon Worshipers hindered attempts to stop her plots and her demons began to rain from the sky. By late in the year 1040, she had a military force capable of challenging both the Tumult military and the Second Mineosian Crusade (a group she saw as an unfortunate nuisance she could not have foreseen). She nearly conquered the city, but her plans were foiled by Neih shutting her portals.

Motivation

While she served Asmodeus in his attempt to kill Neih, her motives were to get demons and devils into the reincarnation cycle of the Path to Veritas. She thought this would give her kind the opportunity to overcome their evil natures through multiple lives. While she was still evil and could not help her cruelty, part of her wanted the opportunity to change.

Contacts & Relations

Though strange for a succubus, the Lady of Dusk fell in a legitimate love with the cambion Sestycius, to the point where she would sacrifice for him. That never became the case, as she died before him, but it was a strange shift in character for a creature whose nature is manipulative seduction.

Honorary & Occupational Titles

She became known as the Lady of Dusk after seducing the lord of the city into marriage. Her influence and power quickly outshone the lord. She preferred the name over her own and thus people began to call her that.
