The Gith Shipwrights
The Gith Shipwrights are a series of loosely connected business run city states called pits that the gith made after their defeat in the Dragon Blight. Though their size and number are not well known, there are approximately a dozen of these cities scattered throughout the Veritian Leaf, housing about a quarter million gith. At first, they built and sold ships in order to survive in a hostile world that saw them as invaders, but after awhile they settled and made a profitable business out of it all. Their largest settlement is the Pit in the Tumult territory.
Structure
Each individual city is run by a different ship building business. Though rare, some gith leave the established business-states to attempt to found new ones elsewhere. It is meritocratic and elitist.
Public Agenda
Their agenda is to one day revive their home leaf to what the Veritian one is. Each of their ship building facilities, though profit is their main goal, has a research division devoted to reviving their continental leaf which rotted early in the season of Summer.
History
The gith came over with the Dragon Blight, and in order to survive in a foreign land, built an industry in the one thing they excelled at. Since then, their airships roam the vein highways of the leaf, making transportation throughout the continent much easier.
In the year 999, the pit south of Glade mined too close to the central vein, causing an explosion that leveled the city and turned the region into a tropical forest.
In the year 1040, there was a massive prison break at the Pit in Tumult.
