Shogunate of Eastern Dakath
The Shogunate of Eastern Dakath is a nation formed after the civil war of Dakath in 1050 ended in splitting the nation into two. The eastern half, encompassing the portion of Dakath within the Eastern Fey Wilds, became the Shogunate, as its ruler was a military warlord by the name of Kalethorn Nur. The shogun was also the holder of the title of Duke of Oriaphia, giving authority over the fey in the wilds.
Territories
The Shogunate currently encompasses three provinces of what was once Dakath. The first province he claimed was the Elfland Pines, a dark corniferous forest shaded by the curvature of the continental leaf so that it has shorter days than other regions. It bordered the lands of the archfey the Duke of Oriaphia. Here is where the elven city of Memore lies, built into the roots of a dead colossial mangrove tree whose roots could no longer reach the great droplet sea. The next was the province of Borderwild, whose border demarcates between the Eastern Fey Wilds and the coastal grassland and tropical regions of the Great Droplet Sea. The Borderwild is a moderately populated region of small cities covered by the canopy of a temperate forest. Here is where Kalethorn made his capitol New Nur. The final province was a territory claimed by Dakath, though few lived there, only having a few military outposts to keep the Church from their eastern flank. It was called the Feylands. Kalethorn took the territory and built the temple city of Vendetta here, devoted to the Ussaire deity of Vegeance.
Foreign Relations
Their main struggle is with their brothers of Western Dakath. It is an old feud, but also one within memory for the elves. The elves of the West were of the High elf variety, forming long lasting aristocracies and high culture. The Eastern elves were of the wood elf variety, one with nature and more tribal. This is an oversimplification though, as the east did also have a large mercantile class and farming class who would not kowtow to the West's way of life, and the West had plenty of wealthy families of lineage who no peasent would be able to distinguish from their western counterparts. But the animosity runs deep, and Kalethorn used that division to build his empire.
