Guardian Frost Tanner

Guardian Frost Tanner, also called the Herald of Cold Summits, was the captain of the Third Dreadnought of the Ram Division of the Eternal Empire's Fourth Fleet. She was a notable member of the Guardian Program, for she was the only full fey who volunteered for the genetic modifications that survived. She is a frost spriggan, descendant to a surviving tribe of Spriggans from the previous Winter (though that history is lost in the many millennia between). Another thing that earn her renown within the Fleet is that she was from the inner worlds volunteer enlistment program, not a conscript from the outer lands nor born in the fleet. The majority of these enlisters tend to go towards more popular fleets, such as the First Fleet and the Fifth Fleet, or any of the Defensive Fleets for its more lax demands. Frost Tanner chose a misfit fleet, and devoted her life to it.
Frost Tanner got the position of captain of the Third Dreadnought because the core of that ship was of an old Winter design. Her and her crew were resilient to the cold of that ship and could man it at peak efficiency. If she had a worse track record, they may have retired the ship and begin the costly process of rebuilding a third of the Ram's forces, but they lucked out with her. The rest of the fleet doesn't even know how lucky they were with this choice of necessity, for Frost Tanner was pivotal in holding back the Truth plague that began in the Ram during the invasion of the Veritian Leaf. She was the first to realize the sonar transmission of the infection, and came up with the ingenious plan to use the telecommunication arrays that had prepared for establishing telecommunications for future ground incursions into the Church of Veritas territory to create a sound barrier around the lost mothership, keeping the infection mostly contained. The leaf would have been lost without her quick thinking.
