Fiona Wachter is a noble lady from the village of Vallaki. She was married to Nikolai Sr., and has one daughter and two sons. The family lives in the Wachterhaus. Fiona is an open supporter of Strahd von Zarovich and opposes Vargas Vallakovich, wishing to become burgomaster of Vallaki herself.

Fiona Wachter became the burgomaster of Vallaki following the demise of Vargas Vallakovich, a demise she had played a large role in. Following the Revolt of Vallaki she ran a well-liked regime at first. People however started disappearing as the cults she had set up to undermine Vargas Vallakovich started to get out of hand.

The Wandering Apocalypse returned to Vallaki and the Wachterhaus to investigate whether one of the fated artifacts was there. That Father Lucian Petrovich was missing only aided their suspicion. They snuck into the Wachterhaus, where they confronted cultists and found the remains of Father Lucian Petrovich. Fiona Wachter, warned in advance, gathered a sizable force of cultists. A battle ensued, where it not for the Wandering Apocalypse finding Strahd von Zarovich waiting for them upstairs, having taken hold of the fated treasure himself. He bid them a fine day, and went on to dismiss Fiona Wachter and her family from his service, stating that they had utterly failed to protect it, leaving a broken woman behind. Fiona Wachter has not been seen since.
