Giantspeech is the language used by the Giants. It is derived from the trollspeech which itself is originally derived from the common tongue . As already in the trollspeech, unspoken communication has a raised importance. 

While spoken words only describe and specify if necessary, unspoken comunication expresses the speakers mind or intention. So are moods, feelings, relations, doubts, questions and decisions such as acknowledgements or refusals all communicated without any words. 
Most important for this part of the language are facial espressions and bodylanguage, to a lesser extend also the usage of signs and symbolic movements. Consequently eye contact is crucial for an succesful communication and non-maintaining of eye contact is seen as rude and impolite, as sign of disinterest for the others opinion.
