David Wong

David Wong is the main character of War of the Spirits and a former student of Jitsugetsu Academy. He is the reincarnation of a Taoist priest with profound spiritual powers and is prophesized to be the deciding factor in the fight against dark spirits taking over the Spirit World.

Appearance

David has a oval face with a straight, almost spiky, black hair and dark brown eyes. He dyed his hair blond when he was 12-13 during his rebellious phase, and then changed back to his natural color.

History

David is the oldest child of the Juk-lung Wong and Ziwaa Wong and older brother to Ellie Wong. As a child, his parents were very vigilant regarding his studies. He was enrolled in extra academic tutoring at the age of 10, martial arts lessons at 11, and piano lessons at 12. With the ever increasing demands of school and extracurricular, David became stressed and rebellious, dyeing his hair blond. David continued all his extracurricular, though to a far less degree; his grades began to slip in school due to skipping classes; and he became absorbed in video games, comic books, and hanging out with the school delinquents. It was during this time, a couple months prior to David’s matriculation into high school, that Ryūichi Kurosaki arrived in New York City to try and scout the boy for his academy.

Plot

War of the Spirits

David enrolls in the Jitsugetsu Mahou Gakuen to train to become a Taoist mage and rectify the chaos in the Spirit World. When David entered the Spirit World for the first time, Ryūichi gave him the legendary Yata no Kagami to use as shield and an unnamed sword capable of damaging spiits spirits.

David possess the legendary Japanese regalia Yata no Kagami and an unnamed sword capable of damaging spirits.

Abilities

Martial Arts

David has been learning martial arts since a young age. He has been trained specifically in sword-fighting and other related weapons as well as hard- and soft-style Chinese kung-fu.

Magic

David has learned a variety of magic from Ryūichi at Jitsugetsu Academy. However, being in the Spirit World without a physical body, he is unable to use magic.

Spirit Arts

David was specifically trained in basic spirit arts in his last year before his departure for the Spirit World. He continues developing his previous skills and learned new techniques throughout his journey in the Spirit World.
