Fey mounds and fungal nexuses *WIP*

This is a large growth or concentration of fungus, something like a parent node.  More research needs to be done to see if this is indeed how fungus operates. But I can imagine a tangle a thin white feelers woven around each other and over the remains of what rock was under whatever trees used to be here. Maybe all plants gone, just the skeletal outline made by the fungus as it consumed the plants from the inside and out. Maybe there aren’t any plants left here, just the ghosts of plants, fungus that mimics or mocks the plants that stand where they used to stand. 
Honeydew ants??? Or something else that could feel that niche. Is it a sporing ground? A place where the “fruiting bodies” are, where the spores are released where animals, including people, can breath them and be affected by them.
