The Mistlands refers to the parts of the continent Adronica that remain beneath the mists. In the Lowland Era, the land was both habitable and comprised the majority of the continent's settlements.
In the final decades of the Lowland Era, the mists both emerged, and rose to cover the majority of Adronica. With it came the mutating of beasts into monstrous beings, leading to the abandonment of what is now termed the 'mistlands'. Prior to the Airship Revolution, the Mistlands were still inhabited by small villages and military outposts, though without being needed, they were abandoned.
