Principality of Hardol
The Principality of Hardol is a city-state in the north-west region of Adronica. It is ruled by a Grand Duke. Hardol is situated around a hill, upon which a castle is built. It is walled, and the majority of the city sits on a lake below the layer of the mists. It is prone to monsoons, which dissipates much of the mists.
Culture
Hardol has a culture that firmly believes that station and duty can be taught as a matter of upbringing. This influences Hardolian concepts of family; while lineage maintains its importance as it is across Adronica, bloodlines are significantly less important. Orphanages in Hardol are well-tended to, and adoption rates are high. It is a good city in which to be an orphan. As a result, families (particularly high-born ones) are quite large.
