Yanjinese

The language of the Yanjin people, and the primary language in the Empire of Wamato.

Yanjinese is a tonal language, meaning that the pitch or tone used when speaking a word can change its meaning. The language is written using a system of ideograms called wanji.

There are also several dialects of Yanjinese spoken throughout the Empire, each with its own regional variations in pronunciation, vocabulary, and grammar. Some of the major dialects include Hoshimoto dialect, Sazanami dialect, and Kojima dialect. These dialects can sometimes be difficult for speakers of other dialects to understand, although standard Yanjinese is generally understood by all Yanjin speakers.

Naming Traditions

In Yanjin naming tradition, people typically have a personal name and a family name, which follow a specific order. The family name (surname) is listed first, followed by the personal name (given name). For example, if a Yanjin person's family name is Sato and their personal name is Akio, their full name would be Sato Akio.

In addition to personal and family names, Yanjin people may also have a middle name or a nickname. Middle names are less common and usually only used in formal situations, whereas nicknames are often used informally among friends and family.

When naming their children, Yanjin parents may choose names that reflect their values or hopes for their child's future. Names often have meanings related to nature, beauty, strength, or virtues. Some parents may also choose to give their child a name that reflects their own family history or a famous historical figure.
