Miyagi Yumeko's Last Letter

This letter was sent from Miyagi Yumeko, to her son Miyagi Yūko shortly before her disappearance into the Middlesea. It is not included in any shared compilations of her letters, and is kept closely held by the Miyagi family. Unlike most of her letters, it is written using the ancient shimakaidā writing system that was traditional in the Chichyū Islands before they adopted the Wamatoan script. This may have been done for privacy, since it is unlikely that anyone beyond some Kitsunejin scholars would be familiar with shimakaidā glyphs. There are some rumors of lost letters of Miyagi Yumeko, but the contents of them are not guessed at. The letter is short, and the text is as follows:

Yūko -

I am setting sail from Tarshish today. The queen has turned her glass faces towards me, and I dare not stay longer, lest she grow more suspicious than she already is. I have learned much of her plans since last we spoke of this matter, and what I have learned has spawned questions upon questions. I worry that her plans, should they come to fruition, will have consequences that are literally unimaginable.

I will have to vanish for a time. I am taking Yukinu into her home waters, where few can follow. I am on the cusp of my century, and will need time to learn the way of the second tail - perhaps years. During this time, I hope the queen will turn her eyes elsewhere, believing me gone. Do not draw attention to what you know, but be certain that the family and those we trust are watching and ready.
