Emeristan

The Khanate of Emeristan in the Iothuan Territories.

Founded in 1415 after the Iothuan Civil War, Emeric Vernier named his new portion of Iothua Emeristan and set about creating colony villages throughout the land. Establishing its capital city Chaluire, named after a great-grandfather of Emeric, a motion was set forth to split the land of Emeristan into Parishes to preserve order within the regulations of Emeric's military leaders. Setting his Corps Generals forth into Emeristan, five Parishes were founded in the years 1428 to 1440. In order these were: De Villiers, Gerin-Lajoie, Draguives, Rossignol, and Daucourt.    Founded in 1428 as the first Parish in Emeristan, Army Corps General Roch de Villiers plotted his Parish on the southern bend of the Inner Sea Gulf just north of the Parish of Chaluire. It is known for being the smallest Parish according to square miles of land as de Villiers liked keeping an eye on his Divisional Generals. He founded its Parish Seat and named it after a love of his died during childbirth, Greciennes. Boasting a population of about 64,000 people, the lush Forêt de Vie bears welcome to all travelers and an amazing view of the Inner Sea along its coast.    Founded in 1430 Gérin-Lajoie was named after half-brothers Army Corps Generals Benoît Lajoie and Gérôme Gérin joined forces together. One protecting the Inner Sea Gulf, and one to protect the Parish, Gérin-Lajoie is north of Chaluire and north-west of De Villiers and expands north to meet Drauguives to the east and Rossignol to the West. After establishing their duties elsewhere, never liking to be tied down, Colonel Constantin Shawcross founded Gérin-Lajoie's capital city of Shawcross Hold with a shanty town for when important meetings of Lajoie and Gérin needed to take place. With a population of 66,000 people, Gérin-Lajoie is known for its adventuring guild in Shawcross Hold along with its Guild Games that take place every year since 3013.    Founded in 1432 Draguives was named after Army Corps General Cyrille Drauguives. Naming the capital city after the Parish, Drauguives hold the North Point extending from the Great Isthmus bordering Daucourt and extending westward to join the borders of Gérin-Lajoie and Rossignol. Drauguives hold a long standing rivalry against De Villiers because of its small population of 49,000 people.    Founded in 1434 Rossignol was named after Army Corps General Mickaël Rossignol and founded the city of Charbonneau after his childhood pet. Bordering three other Parishes, Chaluire to the south, Gérin-Lajoie to the east, Drauguives to the north, and the Holy State of Ektarros to the west Rossignol is the only land-locked Parish in Emeristan. Sporting a drier climate, that does not stop the 74,000 residents from calling Rossignol home.    After a territorial claim dispute with the country of Eshax, Daucourt was established after Army Corps General Hugo Daucourt in 1440. Though the last of the Parishes to be established, it is second only to Chaluire in population density with a whopping 110,000 people living in 2.3k square miles. Beibarde was named after the territorial skirmish fought against House Malcus of Eshax in 1439, because it happened during the Festival of Beibarde. Every two years, the Festival of Beibarde is complemented with recreations of the territorial war that took place. Daucort is bordered only by Drauguives and Eshax, calling the Great Isthmus home.
