Scar

Many regions of Errath were devastated and fundamentally transformed during the war. Sometimes the cause was mystical corruption, weapons, or pollution that irrevocably altered the land. In others it stems from planar breeches, usually to elemental realms, causing these areas to be easy transition points to the planes, and taking on the aspects of them. In nearly all cases these are dangerous areas that people stay clear of, filled with hazards and monsters.

Manifestation

Each scar is unique, and the manifestation depends on the link. The Furnace, in the former Deepcore City and linked to the plane of fire, has made fire wreath most of the former dwarven city, and brought rivers of magma to flow through it. The Poisonwood in the Tallwood Forest has warped the native plants and animals, often creating aberrations from them.
