Izmat II

A world discovered in 2132 thru Earth, but two years after the discovery of Izmat, an inner planet in the same system; and inhabited in 2133 thru Earth. The world of Izmat II is MAIN POINTS.
Note that there is no doorway between Izmat and Izmat II. Both were discovered from Earth; reaching two planets in the same star system was thought to be very unlikely, and caused great excitement at the time. Establishing a direct connection between Izmat and Izmat II is impossible; the necessary energy is simply unworkable. After 2205, when the Earth-Izmat II doorway was lost, there was a dark decade when any disaster could have overturned the inhabitation on Izmat II and its sister world could have only watched; but no disaster came. Izmat II stayed in contact with Izmat through beamed satellite communications, and later a spaceship connection was established. Some of the excitement for the Maker of Ways is because it could be used to link Izmat II once again with the other worlds of humanity.

Planet

Izmat is the second planet of a blue dwarf star (Sol Izmat). The system has two other planets, another inward inhabited world Izmat, and an outward gas giant (Izmat III/Bellerophon), and sundry planetoids in the outer system.
Izmat II's gravity is 1.2 EG, and its surface area is 1.4 ES. Though it is bigger than Izmat, it is not so amenable to human life. The planet is mainly flat, with shallow oceans that windstorms and geological events shift from one place to other; the planet has many great volcanoes which are predictable and therefore no great risk, but which spew great quantities of noxious gases and particles into the atmosphere. There is no native mobile fauna, and all native species are rooted to place, often by long stalks or "chains" to survive the winds and the seas.
