Founding of Gratic City

Founding

Gratic City is founded by Artus the Wise.

Located on the large plain between the White Guard Mountains and the Deranti Forest, Gratic City is now the capital of a sprawling empire.   Settlers had already begun to build farms and homesteads in the area by the time Artus the Wise, the second son of a minor noble from Calteri, claimed the land near the river Ither for the erection of a grand new city that would put Calteri and Algard to shame.   He chose well, as that would indeed come to pass. Over the course of several years, a small fortress and village grew up on the banks of the Ither.   As Artus founded Gratic City late in the year, the following year is given as 1 I in the Gratic calender.
