Temple of Doom: RPG Session 10

General Summary

"Can we not do math, please and thank you? It's 2 in the morning and I don't wanna."   ~307 gold pieces divided by 4 people = who cares?
 

Dramatis Personae

Heroes of the Story:

  • Gúrda Thérun, a Frost Dwarf druid from the wild North;
  • Geort Adanar, a human paladin, fighting the good fight;
  • Melé Alkabahar, a human avenger, seeking glory against evil; and
  • Daz Dromégar, a human bard, searching for help with a task.
  • What Happened

    Following their rest in the basement of the villa, the four heroes returned upstairs and began searching other rooms for any remaining zombies or skeletons. In this search, they found the rooms and quarters of Fasni Zamér and his family, which were as rotted and gutted as the other rooms of this place. Thankfully, Daz's search for magical energy and Melé's keen hearing alerted them to the existence of many zombies in the ruins of the villa's temple.   Inside, the haggard remains of the temple's priest, raised as a wight, was responsible for the undead hordes, the destruction of this house, and the countless victims stolen from pilgrimages and travellers. Melé, between her divine radiance and her greatsword, made surprisingly short work of the wight, while Geort and Gúrda defeated his minions. The battle ended quickly with only a little annoyance, and, their job complete, the Drakeslayers left the villa and began to make their way back to Gratic City.   Along the way, they stopped for the night in the Gratic countryside just beyond the villas and estates of the nobles of the city. In the night, Daz and Gúrda had a talk where they both discussed their criminal pasts and their hopes for the future return and freedom of Daz's associates in the troupe. Daz, usually the hopeful one, was very unhappy with the current state of his friends and didn't expect to find them alive.   It was as Daz began to head for a long sleep that he and Gúrda discovered two black shapes hiding in the nearby bushes. These pair of Nightstalkers attacked their camp while a third went for the sleeping Geort. After a long fight where two of the nightstalkers were killed and the third barely escaped alive, the party went back to sleep. During their watch, Gúrda re-bandaged their diseased wounds from their encounter with the rats in the Gratic City sewers and woke up to find the wounds completely cured.   Arriving back in the city, the party sold off some of their old equipment and used some of the treasure that they had collected from the villa to prepare for their next task, dealing with the bandits responsible for stealing Daz's old troupe. During this time, the four adventurers collected their reward from the Imperial Army for their work at the villa and began to practice and prepare for the battles ahead...

    Notes

    In-game, the party levelled up from level 2 to level 3.
