Pirate Island

"Lake Lós is well-known among travellers for its many small islands, mainly in the north...Filled with beautiful forests, rocky beaches, and rolling hills, these islands have recently come under the control of a handful of pirate bands. These criminals raid nearby villages for money and food, and have been known to enslave and kidnap local farmers."

Demographics

All of the people here are disaffected young Gratics, with the obvious exception of Wildemar, the Widowmaker himself.

Government

Wildemar is the leader of this group of pirates and he makes the large part of the decisions there.

Defences

The base has a pair of watchtowers to keep an eye out for approaching navy ships, as well as a powerful fleet of stolen ships to keep them away.

Industry & Trade

Constant raids bring in food, water, and money for the pirates who live here.

Infrastructure

The base consists of:

• a small collection of dormitories for the men who live here;
• the larger house of Wildemar and his personal guard;
• a large mess hall for meals and general meetings;
• large dockyards, capable of holding larger navy vessels; and a large storehouse that holds additional weapons and armour.

History

Wildemar was initially banished to the mainland but quickly claimed this island for his own. Over the course of the past several years, he and his band have slowly added more buildings and towers, using the proceeds of robbed merchant vessels to finance this construction. All the while, their exact location in the islands has remained a secret.

Geography

The island is about a square mile in size and is heavily forested. A pair of large hills form a barrier between the base and the usual routes of Imperial Navy patrols, which has prevented them from being detected. The forests of the island have been cut down in a few places to make room for the base, but otherwise has remained thick.
