One by one the group of intrepid adventurers began their trek down to The Empty Net, a shady tavern on the harbor. Here they sought the promise of work and a chance to meet with the council member Gellan Primewater. Finding a comfortable spot in the corner, the group met and exchanged greetings with one another. A strange goblin named Bitsy tried to peddle some sort of drug named Agony to the group, but none were willing to try it. Zelem saw an opportunity for profit however, and offered to sell it on her behalf.   Zelem scanned the room for a sucker, and after a bit of convincing, he managed to sell the drug to a random bar patron and watched him fall into a bit of a stupor. The mans wits were still about him though, and he caught Tifa trying to make off with his coin bag. She gave him a nasty punch knocking him out, and got the bartender to chuck him into the harbor after claiming he was acting inappropriately.   With that bit of drama out of the way, the group was approached by Ichard Bexley, one of Gellans men, who brought the group into the room to meet with the Council member. The nobleman told the party of his expectations and the promise for steady work, the importance of discretion and the beginnings of a good relationship. To build up a bit of trust and to gauge the parties skill, he told them to meet with a Mathias Flak in the morning down at The Art of Change to begin their first task. After settling into an Inn, the group rested and set off in the morning to start their new line of work.   Mathias came across as meticulous and methodical man, and began to give the party the first task of collections. A few people he had lent money to had not paid as per their agreement, and he needed a bit of muscle to make sure that the payment was made, along with interest. Another task set before them was a ship was in the harbor that was carrying an animal that was to be delivered yet hadn't, and the group was to either reclaim the money or get the Tiger.   The party decided to check out the farm first, where a farmer had taken a substantial loan to get their farm under way but had not made the payment on the required date. Upon arrival the man claimed to have been robbed, his story backed up by the noticeable damage to the farm and the distraught nature of the farmer. Realizing they were unlikely to recoup any of this coin unless they hunted down the bandits they set off into the wilderness in search of the culprits.   The woods proved to be small enough that following a few major trails led them to the suspected bandits camp. not wishing to negotiate, the group immediately attacked and a battle ensued, with the thieves putting up a good fight but ultimately not enough to stop the party from finding their hidden treasure. One of the bandits remained alive, and the group decided to return her to Saltmarsh in an effort to garner a reward.   The group returned to the farmer, and though the money was recouped, Ira was irritated the additional work and made him pay them two pigs in return for the inconvenience. Zelem objected to this, but let it go and the party returned to the money lender. With the first task secured Mathias was pleased they did a satisfactory job, and everyone prepared to go tackle the second collections task.

Gellan Primewater - A traditionalist council member of Saltmarsh, he is involved in shady activities throughout the town. Does not wish Bards Gate to expand their influence and wants to keep the town small so he maintains his influence in it.  
Ichard Bexley.png
Ichard Bexley - Gellans right hand man, handles much of the council members shadier business and keeps a degree of separation between him and his work.
