The West Galenas

The Western Galenas play host to large groups of creatures that can cohabitate with Dragonkind such as Kobolds, barbaric Dragonborn clans, and worse. Passing through the Western Galenas is possible only along two known routes. The Great Tunnel Road from Avang in Vaasa to Glister in Thar is one that can be used, but travelers must be prepared to battle a nightmarish aberration said to dwell below the perilous subterranean stone bridges. The second path is called the Shadow Road which was made impassable during the First Bloodstone War and has only reopened in the last decade. That pass is made dangerous by to its close proximity to the Shadowfell.   Dangerous Denizens of the West Galenas   There are at least 5 Dragons known to inhabit the Western Galenas, and they desperately hate one another. Name (Color, Age, Whereabouts)
  • Cersarriarth (Red, Ancient(f), believed to dwell in the tallest peak on the Vaasa side, near The Meet)
  • Nhifoghr (White, Ancient(m), known to lair northwest of the Dwarven city Delhalls in a great ice palace)
  • Qyrsed (Red, Adult(m), has a system of cave lairs some 25 miles southwest of Hillsfar Hall)
  • Udrosdunth (Green, Adult(m), lives sometime in the swamp moors of Thar, elsewise lairs in a sulfurous hot spring north of Glister, frequents the Bottomless Bogs
  • Seyrlaun'Dharkesht (Shadow-Red, Young(m), living somewhere near Cersarriarth but to that dragon's south)
In addition, the renegade Warlock Frasyn Inflakaraq has built his fortress in a mountain that must be between Darmshall and Sulasspryn (the two cities where he can frequently be seen). He keeps Kobold, Gnomes, and Dragonborn as slaves and his concubine is said to be a Half-Dragon. He breeds warriors to fight in the Gladiatorial Battles of Darmshall.   Kobolds, Xvarts, Hobgoblins, Kruthiks, and some of the most wicked Ogres in creation also live in the West Galenas. There are a few clutches of Wyverns to be found, but the Dragons of the region view them as detestable pests and kill them on sight.
