King Virdin

LG Fighter[Champion]   King Iejir Virdin ruled Damara from 1329 until 1350 when he was killed at the Ford of Goliad. The son of beloved King Tjovis Virdin, Iejir was first a proud and noble Prince and when his father passed away due to illness, a strong and capable King. Iejir Virdin counted among his friends Gareth Dragonsbane, the elf Belia Reia, and for a time the mysterious trader woman Silith. He had two wives from two noble families and sired a number of children with both. His younger sister married well and also had children. The Virdin family was strong.   If Iejir had any weaknesses, it was his trust for those close to him. After losing Vaasa Gate to the surprise attack of Zhengyi, the Mayor of Bloodstone at that time assured him that one column of knights would be sufficient to hold the valley. This was a lie, and it led to the slaughter at Damara Gate days later and the flood of Vaasan troops into Damara. After pitched battles across Damara, King Iejir and his chief lieutenant Felix believed they had an opportunity to kill Zhengyi at the Ford at Goliad. Unfortunately, Felix also betrayed Iejir and he was killed along with his royal guard in 1350.   After Iejir's Death
The Virdin family was hunted almost to extinction by the Monks of Palischuk, the Warlocks of Telos and the various mercenaries and assassins of Vaasa, but the assassins were never able to find the Iejir's second wife Hjordin Gryffon and her son Leyland. The boy Leyland later sired a daughter with a young lesser noblewoman of Praka who was also hiding in Carmathan, and this girl was Hayli Gryffon (Virdin) future Queen of Damara.
