Aeryndal
Lord Aeryndal
Aeryndal is the twentieth Nyklaie to come into existence, and is the Nyklaie of the Celestial. He is far younger than any of his 'siblings', and was only born after the Lihlsu had existed for several generations. Unlike his 'siblings', he is an artificial Nyklaie, and is the weakest of them because of it. He is the progenitor of the first Celestial Nytha.
Divine Domains
Holidays
The anniversary of the day that the Nyklaie announced his existence to the Lihlsu is celebrated as a religious holiday by the Lihlsu.
Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Aeryndal, like the rest of the Nyklaie, is very slim and agile. He is tall, although not the tallest of his 'siblings', and has a light build of muscle on him. Aeryndal has long, golden-blonde hair that reaches about his mid-back, golden eyes, and fair skin.
Facial Features
Although Aeryndal lacks the typical marking on his back that the other Nyklaie have, he instead has a marking on his forehead of an overlapping sun and crescent moon.
Identifying Characteristics
Although not noticeable at first glance, when looked at closely, Aeryndal, like the other Nyklaie, has a faint aura surrounding him due to his divine nature. Aeryndal's aura is golden in colour.
Physical quirks
Aeryndal, as an artificial Nyklaie, possess inside him shards from all five celestial crystals that were fused together to form his 'soul' and allowed him to be formed out of concentrated Eyla of the five Celestial elements. Aeryndal has a very mixed opinion concerning his 'soul'; he is aware and accepts that he was formed the way he was to carry out a specific duty and carries out said duty responsibly and with great honour. However, at the same time, he resents that, because he is an artificial Nyklaie, he lacks the same elemental abilities as his 'siblings' do. Nevertheless, he is grateful to the five Celestial Nyklaie and the Arcane Nyklaie for giving him life and entrusting him with a great responsibility.
Special abilities
Although Aeryndal is incapable of using elemental abilities like the other Nyklaie, the Nytha, and the Lihlsu, he does have some level of Eyla affinity. He is unable to manifest Eyla into a physical element, but he is able to attune to the field of Eyla. Through this attunement, it has been shown that Aeryndal can actually increase the strength of the five types of Celestial Eyla, making them more present in the surrounding environment and able to overpower any other types of Eyla present.
Apparel & Accessories
Like the other Nyklaie, Aeryndal dresses very formally and elegantly, and usually wears a few pieces of armour as well. As the Celestial Nyklaie, he typically dresses in robes with the colours of blue and silver, with some added gold; his armour is made of metal and is usually gold in colour, it typically consists of a breastplate, pauldrons, and vambraces.
Since the invasion of the Hunters, unlike some of the other Nyklaie, Aeryndal has started wearing his armour indefinitely - apart from when he has given it to Taenaran to have it maintained or repaired.
Specialized Equipment
Aeryndal doesn't posses his own signature weapon, unlike the other Nyklaie; however, he is most usually seen wielding either a longsword or a bastard sword.

Personal history
When the Nyklaie made the decision to create the Nytha, they initially planned to create nineteen of them to represent the whole of each of the nineteen elements to help curb inter-guild conflict, raised together to also help curb inter-element conflict. However, in the process of doing so, they learnt that the five celestial elements were also experiencing problems with each other. These problems would sometimes get so bad that the Nyklaie knew that merely raising the five would-be Celestial Nythas together would not be enough to fix the issue.
Instead, the Nyklaie chose to create a Nytha who could represent the Celestial element as a whole - to deal with these inter-element issues and foster a sense of unity between the five Celestial elements. For this to be possible, they needed a Nyklaie who also represented the element as a whole.
The first Nytha to ever exist were formed out of a combination of a shard of their respective element's crystal, Eyla from their respective element's Nyklaie, and blood from a Lihlsu of their element. While it was easy for the Celestial Nyklaie to fuse shards from the five Celestial crystals into one, the Nytha also needed energy from a Nyklaie who was of the same alignment as them - merely combining the five Celestial Eyla types together would not have worked as they were independent energies and none of the five Celestial Nyklaie represented the umbrella element as a whole.
Instead, the Celestial Nyklaie went about fusing the shards together to create a 'soul' for a new Nyklaie rather than a new Nytha. Prior to doing so, they infused the shards with enough Eyla to sustain a Nytha's powers, but not enough to give the newly created Nyklaie power of their own - so as to prevent the new Nyklaie from being too powerful, as the Nyklaie were meant to be equally powerful even if their elements were not. They then handed this 'soul' over to Lierin, the Arcane Nyklaie, who used her control over the flow of magic, which was believed to have allowed the Nyklaie to form from shards and Eyla as well, to force a body to manifest, even though the 'soul' didn't have enough Eyla absorbed to manifest one on its own. The 'soul' also absorbed trace amounts of Lierin's Arcane Eyla, which caused the five Celestial Eyla types to swirl together rather than solely exist independently and form a 20th type of Eyla, Celestial - although the individual Eyla types could still be accessed separately as well as simultaneously, similar with a dual- or triple-element Lihlsu.
This process created an artificial Nyklaie, a Nyklaie who was not formed from the manifestation of his own type of Eyla but was, technically, instead a product of Arcane Eyla with Celestial Eyla lying dormant inside him. The Nyklaie named this new addition 'Aeryndal' and proclaimed him to be the Nyklaie of the Celestial to the Lihlsu people.
Following his birth, Aeryndal was told of his purpose and the reason for his existence. While disappointed that he was inferior to his elder 'siblings' and lacked any real power of his own, he dutifully carried out the responsibility given to him. Using another fused crystal made of five more shards from the Celestial crystals, Aeryndal combined the fused crystal with the Celestial Eyla contained in his 'soul' and the blood from five Lihlsu of different Celestial types.
He then placed the crystal in the combined waters of the Celestial Fountains of Life - allowing it to manifest a mortal body and create, finally, the Celestial Nytha. Following the Celestial Nytha's birth, three of the five Lihlsu guilds stopped recognising the Celestial elements by their independent elements, referring to Lihlsu born under them by the moniker of 'Celestial' rather than 'Moon', 'Sun', 'Star', 'Planet', and 'Galaxy'; the Cídyi Íshlak'í and the Shíhyí Cohak'í both abandoned their separate headquarters in the Celestial Sub-Districts in favour of combined headquarters (located in the Sun Sub-District for the Shíhyí Cohak'í and the Star Sub-District for the Cídyi Íshlak'í) and the three Lihlsu guilds who practiced Feldi started to worship Aeryndal alongside the other Nyklaie.
Three hundred years later, the other nineteen Nyklaie started to spend time walking among the Lihlsu people, particularly the Nyé̃mosh, in order to conceive and give birth to the Vialaie and, after, to raise their new children to adulthood. During this time, Aeryndal was left in charge of raising and protecting the second generation of Nythas and overseeing their training by the different guilds. Aeryndal was offered to join his 'siblings' and start his own legacy and sire his own children, as the Nythas were at an age where they didn't need constant supervision, however Aeryndal turned this down as he had no desire for a romantic or sexual relationship.
Nearly 2000 years later, the day after the Celestial Nytha at the time relinquished their position in favour of eternal sleep, the current queen of Filran Fyhathyr, Aellaena Eilrieth, announced to the Lihlsu population that she was pregnant and due to have a daughter. Aeryndal then chose the unborn princess, Celeste Faero, to be the next Celestial Nytha.
Four years after her birth, Aeryndal was shocked to learn that Celeste's parents had refused to have Celeste's EER tested and had even lied about it. Aeryndal deduced that they had discovered on their own that Celeste was a Nytha, and figured that they had decided to not have her tested as they didn't want their daughter to be raised by someone else - especially when she was their only child. As per a pact made by the Nyklaie, Aeryndal didn't make an attempt to alert any of the Lihlsu to the truth and, when asked by his 'siblings' as to why the Celestial Nytha hadn't been located in that year's EER testing, told the other Nyklaie that the parents of the current Celestial Nytha had chosen to hide her.
Another four years after this, the ancestral city of the Lihlsu was invaded by the Council of Hunters. During the invasion, 80% of the Lihlsu population was killed, including most members of the Vialaie families and all Nythas barr the Celestial and Shadow Nythas, both of whom hadn't been tested at the age of four and instead kept secret and had therefore been absent for eight and ten years respectively.
As the Nyklaie fled to the Crystal Caves when the invasion started to protect both themselves and the elemental crystals from harm, Aeryndal wasn't present to witness the fate of Celeste during the invasion, and was therefore left in the dark about whether or not she had survived or also been killed. Another two hundred years would pass before Aeryndal would learn that Celeste had survived due to having been hidden away in the Celestial Temple.
Gender Identity
Aeryndal was born male and is cisgender, and typically presents himself masculinely. He uses he / him pronouns.
Sexuality
Although the Nyklaie aren't typically tied down by the labels of mortal society, his distinct distaste of relationships, both romantic and sexual, have heavily implied that Aeryndal is an aromantic asexual.
Education
Accomplishments & Achievements
The sole, but also incredibly important, accomplishment of Aeryndal's life is the creation of the Celestial Nytha, the purpose for which he was born.
It could also be claimed that not forcing Celeste Faero to be revealed as the most recent Celestial Nytha is another accomplishment, as being hidden away was one of the factors influencing her survival of the Hunters' invasion of the City of Filran Fyhathyr.
Intellectual Characteristics
Bodily-Kinesthetic
Morality & Philosophy
Like the other Nyklaie, Aeryndal is fiercely protective of the Lihlsu, and is willing to kill in order to protect them from harm. Similarly, he is also willing to kill to protect his fellow Nyklaie from harm as well. Aeryndal typically has no issue with doing what needs to be done if it is for the greater good or to achieve harmony or peace. However, he is not malicious in his actions. If he needs to kill one person to save another, he does not kill cruelly and rather prefers a quick death to spare the victim any unnecessary suffering.
Taboos
Like his Nyklaie 'siblings', Aeryndal considers it to be taboo to influence the decisions made the Lihlsu. Although they are considered deities of the Feldi religion, the Nyklaie are not overseeing deities. They do not attempt to sway the decisions of Lihlsu people and let events play out as they should. However, they also protect the Lihlsu whenever possible and in whatever way they think would be more beneficial - such as fleeing the Lihlsu city for the Crystal Caves when the city was invaded as they knew that if they were hurt at all by the Hunters, then the elemental crystals would deactivate themselves and the Lihlsu would be stripped of their powers and the Nyklaie would also be left severely weakened.
Personality Characteristics
Motivation
- The survival of the Lihlsu.
- The raising of the Celestial Nytha.
Savvies & Ineptitudes
Aeryndal is skilled in fighting, like most of the Nyklaie are, having been strictly trained by Taenaran. He is also far more skilled at sensing the flow of Eyla that his 'siblings'.
On the flip side, he is the weakest of the Nyklaie, due to the circumstances of his birth, and lacks any elemental power.
Social
Contacts & Relations
Despite being an artificial Nyklaie, Aeryndal is still incredibly close with his elder 'siblings'. He also forms strong bonds with each new generation of Nytha, in particular the Celestial Nytha. He also has minor affiliations with the Vialaie families descended from the other Celestial Nyklaie, Amra, Faelyn, Elisen, Vaeril, and Lhoris.
Family Ties
Aeryndal considers the other Nyklaie and the Nytha to be his 'siblings' and sees them as close family. He also considers the Vialaie to be family in a more extended sense, as they are the descendants of the Nyklaie. Aeryndal is incredibly close and warm to anyone he considers to be a part of his family.
Social Aptitude
Aeryndal is described by his fellow Nyklaie to be rather introverted, and is usually only open and talkative with those he considers family. To anyone outside of his 'family', he is typically rather cold and curt.
Speech
Aeryndal has a rather medium-pitched voice, and he speaks quite clearly with distinct enunciation.
