Personal history
Voigt was born to a fairly wealthy Arcadian family as engineering work exploded with the start of the ARCS Federation. A brilliant child, he began working on magitechnology from a young age, fascinated especially by his family butler, a Soulforged. Learning much from the friendly family butler, he was able to take his upper class education and own sharp wit with him into a job with Waterfront Industries.
In this position he was able to innovate the Soulforged creation process to directly access the souls needed instead of having to get them through The Aether. This allowed soulforged to be created much quicker and at a higher rate and allowed the company to profit on the theoretical ability to live forever.
When the company collapsed, Voigt wandered for a short time looking for ways to expand his craft and understand more about the magic that made souls what they were. He ended up in Iocrias where he refined the processes he used to create Soulforged to create magic to manipulate souls directly and on the fly. It was during his time here that he ended up meeting the Terrasque Slayers when Cidash was destroyed.
He traveled with them for a short time before taking a support role in their adventurers where he was approached by interests connected to Asch Figthorn. A man who cared for little more than scientific advancement, they offered him access to nearly limitless magical power to proceed with his studies; an offer he would never refuse. He became their mole and killed Frane Domus's right hand Gwyndolin when she got in their way and assisted in the takeover of Bhamir, though he was killed by Kagrin Vlatson in the retaking of the city.
With his mastery of souls he was smart enough to turn himself into a Lich to continue his work after "death." His phylactery hidden, he resurfaced assisting Asch Figthorn and his allies at The Well but was thrown into the beam of Erebus by the Terrasque Slayers to defeat him.
He continued to live after the battle at The Well. As a lich he was secretly found by both Frane Domus and Kagrin Vlatson separately. With their own motivations and need of his knowledge, they allowed him to continue as he was in exchange for being taught about Soul magic and how to become a Lich.
He was later found by Zulex Vlaston. His isolation and the maddening effects of being a lich had made him desperate for power. He was convinced to join Zulex and his Usurpers in their plan to take over the The Abyss. With his knowledge of soul magic he was able to track down and release damned souls to join their efforts. Forced to take his soul with him to the realm, he was finally able to be defeated for the last time by the Raiders of the Abyss.
