The Feywild

The Feywild is connected laterally to Terra in a direction that can only be described as the "W" axis. While separate from Terra, it seems to overlap in certain areas. Much of the Feywild is only stylistically different from Terra while other areas vary wildly. Pathways between worlds open seemingly randomly, while others are specifically created as small portal objects (that were once believed to be dimensional sanctuaries) called Elven Sanctuaries. The realm is difficult to navigate as the terrain is often in flux, elemental planes bleeding over in many areas. The closest thing this realm has to deities are known as Elemental Spirits, though their presence often bleeds into Terra as well due to their massive magical power.

Geography

Bathed in a violet twilight and covered in plants of more vibrant colors that most Terrans have ever seen, this was made the new home of the Elves when Bhato Va'Losh's civil war pushed many away.

Fauna & Flora

Lingering spirits that are not able to move onto The Aether go here, where they occasionally are able to manifest themselves back on Terra in corresponding locations

History

The Feywild was created by The Feycourt and their brother Escher during the The Ancient War of Elves and Dragons. Originally an area outside space that was pushed into for possible military tactical advantages, the siblings discovered the ability to touch a strange source beyond the world. With the power from that source, the Feywild was formed with the Feycourt as its leaders.
That strange source of power was sealed off with several rituals using the Court's new powers into a pocket of the Feywilds. Eventually, through the erasing effects of Ephemera, the Feycourt forgot the source of their power. Only when a warlord by the name of Strahd von Zarovich accidentally broke his way through the barrier, did some of the powers break enough for Escher to investigate. 
Over hundreds of years Strahd continued to establish Barovia as a pocket realm in the Feywild before finally a group of heroes killed him and his connection to the Deep and fully breaking down the barrier between Barovia, the Deep, and the rest of the Feywild.
