Dawnbreak
Demographics
The majority of Dawnbreak's residents are military. As a result, the two upper rings are completely devoted to the military. The lowest ring is devoted to the shops and merchants while the other two rings are for housing.
Government
Dawnbreak is a military state similar to Athens from Earth's history. It is technically a Republic, though the Phoenix Knight Judiciary has the final say in most matters. While the possibility for corruption exists, the sheer volume of Sorcerers in the kingdom discourages tyranny.
Defences
The defensive constructs of Dawnbreak are among the most impressive in the world. These include Firestorm Cannons, weapons named for their inventor. Volcanic dump buckets, Dragonsnout fire cannons and fire crossbows.
Industry & Trade
Dawnbreak has a monopoly on Mount Shatter, one of the few places in the world where Sunstones can be mined. Also, the mystics of the Sun Worshipers are famous for their magical weapons. Other major industries include farming and mining.
Infrastructure
Dawnbreak is a piece of art carved from the lava flows of the shattered mountain. Its people have left it mostly untouched, but have constructed extensive defense systems along the walls. The most notable structure is the massive golden temple of the sun, which is blinding during certain hours of the day, dawn specifically.
Guilds and Factions
The Phoenix Knights run the city and the kingdom, while the Adventurer's League handles the thriving mercenary business and the Sun Worshipers create spell scrolls and other enchanted items. Luckily, the factions exist in harmony.
History
Dawnbreak is the newest of the great cities, created at the beginning of the Age of Hope. It has never faced a real threat in its short history.
Architecture
Dawnbreak is constructed of Obsidian and Gold, Lava was pulled from the mountain by Judicator and Architect as they worked together to forge the 5 ringed city. The design is inspired by Minas Tirith from Lord of the Rings. The buildings tend to be tall in order to conserve space, sometimes stretching up five stories.
Geography
Set on the side of Mount Shatter on the West side, the city is back-lit by the rising sun every morning and glows like a candle at sunset. There is only one winding road from the city's main gate. Scaling the mountain is treacherous and scaling the walls is nearly impossible. While the mountain is barren, the land around it is extremely fertile, especially to the south.
Natural Resources
Dawnbreak's external farmland is no match for Hematite's, but wealth of ores and rare minerals can only be surpassed by the Deathward Mountains, where the ancient mine of Harik's Fortune once bested it.
