Southern Godteach / Eolanuism Organization in The Last Unfinished Prophecy | World Anvil

Southern Godteach / Eolanuism

There is no "leader" or "supranational institution" of Eolanuism. Instead, once a year, every country's Grandpriestess reunite to discuss matters of their respective countries and how to better embody the Godess' values.   The core values that distinguish it from the Northern Godteach are its core values of equality, community and progressism.   As every Godteach, each country has its own version of Eolanuism. Although, they're still officially referred to as Eolanuism, they possess unofficial names to distinguish them from each other.   Though never disbanded, the three Godteaches were placed under the authority of the Imperial Godteach in the Classic Ages. They regained their independence once the Imperial Godteach was dismantled.

The Goddess created everything, but it is up to people to ensure to create a safe haven with her creations. The higher you are, the most responsible you are, the more you're expected to live according to the Goddess' values.

Serving the people and the will of the Goddess.

Assets

High Wealth Charities Funding Allowances Buildings that are transformed into schools, medical centers, orphanages, etc. Either co-leaded by a priestess or given full autonomy.

History

The creation of the Southern Godteach was done toward the beginning of the Golden Ages. Settlers traversed the land separating the Duibeganfada and Gearrfada twin rivers created.   For the northern scholars, those settlers must have been fleeing from something, because there is no mass movements recorded throughout the entire northern region, they probably were fleeing punishment for some irreparable crimes. If they only stopped after the "Impassable Barrier", it had to mean they felt safe enough to stop their runaway.   Southern scholars, on the other hand, perceive this hypothesized event as the indication the Goddess gave those settlers a divine mission, hence the absence of "mass movements" being recorded. The point was specifically to create a new society after the first one ended up as a disappointment. This approach is shared by the Southern Godteach and is an integral part of Eolanuism.

Military

They don't have any per se. The priestesses who are part of the military usually fill in that role when they retire or take a break from the official military. Another possibility is for knights or warriors to volunteer.

Technological Level

Mostly relies on scholars' discoveries, more specifically priestess scholars.

Education

It offers its own education and helps funding various schools alongside the state they're located in.

Infrastructure

Each country has its own headquarter.

Divine Origins

It originates from the travelling folks that left the northern lands to travel and populate the South. According to the southern scholars, the Goddess was disappointed by the inequality of the northern countries and tasked their ancestors to travel to the south and create new countries based on her real values.

Tenets of Faith

Community Equality Fulfilling others before fulfilling yourself Progressism Be responsible Be compassionate Help whenever you can Improve the lives of everyone

Ethics

Depends of the country as each have their own variation and focus.

Worship

They're limited to specific religious festivities, but there is a monthly meeting where people are expected to pay respect to the Goddess. The rest of the time, there are no expected religious rituals or traditions to manifest your faith.

Priesthood

Usually, a Grandpriestess is replaced by one of her Grandmothers, however, if an exceptional individual exists that all Grandmothers support, they can be promoted to the Grandpriestess as well.   Moreoever, unless a Grandpriestess is forced to step down or unanomuously voted out by the Grandmotehrs, only death would lead to the replacement of one.

Granted Divine Powers

High Magic: Joining the Godteach won't give you high magic, however, only people with high magic can attempt to join the Godteach. The majority of people choose to as it seems like common sense to them.

Political Influence & Intrigue

They technically don't directly take part in the government system, as it is the role of the Minister of Religious Affairs.   Usually, the Minister of Religious Affairs offers recommendations to the Godteach and works alongside the Grandpriestess for the good of the domain, however, if they get a royal decree, they can take over the Godteach as long as required. Because the Minister technically operates outside the Godteach, it's the only way for a man/male to temporarily be on the top of the hierarchy of the insititution.   The Grandpriestesses of the Southern Godteach tend to be more informed of the political situation of their respective country compared to their Northern counterparts.
