Dedus the Prospector

Dedus the Prospector is attributed to the domains of mining, ores, gemstones, and caves. Dedus is not a popular deity, having only a few altars across the empire. Whenever an altar can be found dedicated to him, it is usually due to the influence of a guild that worships him. An example of this would be the Miner's Guild in Hazegate . Dedus is, however, more upcoming in the dwarven provinces now that the Faith is being spread to the underground halls.

Worship

Dedus is historically worshipped by the common folk who work in the mines. These men and women hardly make offerings to the god, as it is believed that their labor is enough to please Dedus. Additionally, jewelers pray to the Prospector, presenting him with offerings of rare stones.

Appearance

Dedus is said to appear as a rough and bulky man, sometimes wearing a miner’s uniform and sometimes wearing more sophisticated robes. He carries with him a pickaxe and a magnifier. Lastly, one of his eyes is replaced with a gemstone. What gemstone this might be is a point of discussion, however, some schoolers have recently proposed the theory that it is in fact not a single gemstone. They believe that his eye changes to whatever gem is most common in the region, making Dedus one of the few deities that change his appearance depending on the place he is worshipped.
