Grey Tower Knights
Structure
The Grey Tower Knights follow a simple organizational structure. The head of all the order is the Grand Chaplain. He gives orders to 18 Chaplains. These Chaplains command 5 Priests. Every Priest can issue orders to members who are dormed within his particular house of worship. This tends to range from 5-20 Knight Initiates and Knight Errants.
Culture
The Grey Tower Knights pride themselves in doing good deeds first and foremost. Commonly they provide services to the poor and downtrodden such as housing, food aid, and policing protections. They often work alongside the order of Eva to get medical services to those who otherwise would lack them. A secondary facet of this group is that they have a fierce competitive spirit between members. Often contests of strength in the form on wrestling or competitions of charity spring up between Knights. The Knights also serve as a protective force in times of conflict. Due to a special oath to the King is forbidden to give any Grey Tower Knights conscripts orders to kill an enemy. This often results in lines of the Knights serving as mobile bulwarks to protect camps, artillery, and civilian centers.
Public Agenda
To protect the downtrodden from the throws of fickle fate. They will give support to those they find that are suffering.
Assets
The Grey Tower Knights own a sizable amount of land within Cascade, as such the funds they get from renting out the lands provides ample support for their endevours. It is estimated at least half of the lands in the southern portion of Cascade are in some portion owned by them. Additionally the Knights have a focus on physical fitness, so their members often complete small bounties for extra funding.
History
After the ascension of King Marius, he sought to repair the tarnished reputation of the kingdom of Blackmire. He made it commonplace to care for his people, welcoming any outsiders who sought a better life. His reign was one of peace, grand constructions, and strengthening ties to its neighbors. After the King's death a number of those Solares who agreed in his new stance abandoned their order and founded a new one, hailing the late king as an incarnation of the divine. This group began pooling their resources and constructed the Grey Tower, cementing their position as the ones who watch over the people of Cascade.
Mythology & Lore
The Grey Tower Knights follow in the Davidian tradition of the Hero Kings. Their focus is on the King Marius, his life, and the work he left unfinished.
