House Arakeer (Ar-ah-keer)
House Arakeer was the most powerful powerful dynasty in Kaylone history. Soaring to the unimaginable height of rulers of over half the known galaxy.
History
The beginnings of house Arakeer stretch all the way back into medieval times on Jeven IV (then known only as Jeven). A tumultuous period in Kaylone history with different houses constantly warring for territory and influence. From this conflict a young bastard, Cunin, would begin to make a name for himself in the jungles of Jeven as a cunning warrior. As his notoriety grew he began amassing followers, until he had an army which rivaled that of the strongest tribal houses.
Since he was born of the jungle, Cunin had no surname. And so when his house started to gain influence his competitors began calling them Ara Keer or Blue Cloaks, after the cloaks which they wore in battle, soaked in the blue blood of their enemies. This eventually morphed into the name we know it by today: Arakeer.
Cunin would be succeeded by his son Joven Arakeer, who would be the first to ally them with House Awrent against House Flannal in the Houndinian war. The Arakeer’s performance in the Houndinian war would cement them as one of the great Kaylone Houses of Jeven IV.
During the 19th century Catour Arakeer would ally with House Awrent once again during the war of Kaylone Unification. Catour’s brilliance as both a diplomat and a tactician would prove to be indispensable in the successful unification of the great houses, and would ensure the Arakeer a powerful place in the new order as the Kaylone entered their modern era. House Arakeer would win numerous victories for the Empire during the Awrent Wars furthering their influence. At the end of the War of Kaylone Succession Elist Arakeer would use her skill as a negotiator to orchestrate the deal between her house and the budding Ilk Republic that would put them on the throne of the Kaylone Empire. Elist would become the first Arakeer Empress of the Kaylone Empire in 1884.
Disbandment
The fall of house Arakeer began in 2257 with Empress Salin III's failed assassination attempt on her daughter Princess Alyys. The outbreak of the Great War severely weakened the Empire, and the last straw would come in 2265 as Shikari terror attacks ravaged the Kaylone home world. With Princess Alyys missing and Salin dead the Arakeer dynasty came to an end.
