Empress Salin Arakeer III (Saul-een Ara-kee-r)

Empress Salin (To perservere) Arakeer, III

“Empress Salin III, 13th monarch of the Kaylone Empire, her name blackened by cruelty and despotism. Her rule would bring the Kaylone to the very height of their power, as well as the very depths of their destruction. But what of the women behind the imperial banner? To truly understand the fall of the Kaylone Empire, one must first understand: Who was Salin Arakeer?” - The Biography of Salin Arakeer III, by Bevilé Osteo

Mental characteristics

Personal history

“To understand how Salin Arakeer became Empress Salin the Unconquerable one must begin with her childhood on Jeven IV, the home planet of the Kaylone. Born at 3:34 on the morning of December 14th 2225 Salin enjoyed all the luxuries expected of a Princess of the Kaylone Empire, and a member of the great Arakeer dynasty. Her early days were spent within the safe confines of Arakeer Castle in the city of Jov, being trained in the ways of leadership. Though not close with her father, Emperor Eijall II, Salin would later credit him with how she came to possess much of her skill as a both a politician and a leader. Salin assumed the throne in 2246 at the age of 21, the youngest of her family to ever lead the empire. Despite her youth she made a strong first impression by ending the military campaign on Ibethii by ordering the destruction of the planet. As early as her first year of rule Salin showed an uncompromising desire for control, which though undetected at the time, can be observed in how she manipulated the media in the Empire regarding the Ibethiin War.” - The Biography Of Salin Arakeer III, By Bevilé Osteo

Gender Identity

“For all her faults Salin was very supportive of experimentation with ones gender identity, something that was had been frowned upon under the rule of her predecessors. Though herself cisgender, Salin welcomed members of the transgender and gender-fluid community into the Empire. Many of Salin’s critics claimed that this attitude was merely a publicity stunt engineered by the Empresses publicists, however upon further investigation this suspicion appears to be unfounded.” - The Biography of Salin Arakeer III, By Bevilé Osteo

Sexuality

“Much debate has been spawned over the question of who the father of Empress Salin’s daughter, Alyys Arakeer, actually was. The official statement from the Empire was that Alyys’ father was merely one of Salin’s many concubines, though the identity of said concubine was never revealed. This led many to speculate whether or not the father may have been someone else. Some suspected members of the Kaylone nobility, some thought that perhaps it was one of her soldiers of particularly desirable breeding. A select few even believe that Salin’s Spymaster, the human Alexander Holland, was the father. We may never truly know the answer.” - The Biography Of Salin Arakeer III, By Bevilé Osteo

Education

“As a young girl Salin had access to all the learning materials expected of an imperial princess. The best tutors from around the Empire were brought to train her in a variety of intellectual and practical subjects. A popular rumor among the Kaylone is that Salin was trained in hand to hand combat by a Shikari, though this is widely excepted as propaganda throughout the rest of the galaxy.” - The Biography of Salin Arakeer III, By Bevilé Osteo

Employment

“At the time many applauded Salin for stepping up to the role of monarch at such a young age. Nowadays of course we know the truth, of her father’s assassination which she so carefully engineered.” - The Biography of Salin Arakeer III, By Bevilé Osteo

Accomplishments & Achievements

“One would be hard pressed to find another ruler who has lead their people such great heights, yet also, such utter destruction. It is true that the Empire met its demise under Salin’s rule, but her efforts before the uprising must not be overlooked. In her short 19 years of rule Salin lead her people to the greatest and last golden age. Over 11,000 systems under their control, raking tens of trillions of credits every year. From here it is perhaps difficult to see how things could go so wrong. But go wrong they did.” - The Biography of Salin Arakeer III, By Bevilé Osteo

Failures & Embarrassments

“In essence the beginning of the fall of the Empire can be traced back to a single blunder, Empress Salin’s failed assassination of her daughter Alyys. This one botched action set in motion a chain of events which would lead to utter disaster for the Kaylone. The Imperial heist, the Great War, the Shikari uprising, the Abalone strike, the death of Alexander Morel. All resulting from a single lapse in judgment.” - The Biography of Salin Arakeer III, By Bevilé Osteo

Mental Trauma

“The great tragedy in the study of Salin’s history is to watch as her mental state slowly fracture over the course of her life. Such can been seen as early as her teenage years when she began inviting slaves up to her quarters where she would dose them with a paralysis agent and slowly torture them to death in order to relieve stress. This is to say nothing of her chronic paranoia which drove her to assassinate first her father, and later to attempt the same against her own daughter. Both times out of fear that they would try to take control from her. It is truly disturbing to watch her spiral into madness post the Imperial heist.” - The Biography Of Salin Arakeer III, By Bevilé Osteo

Intellectual Characteristics

“Empress Salin was one of the greatest military tacticians of her time during her early years. The brilliance on display in her earliest victories are in stark contrast to the fractured mind which lead the Empire to it’s doom in the Galactic War. Truly fascinating, don’t you think?” - Javos Quell, former head of Shadow Tech

Morality & Philosophy

“She won’t stop. She never stops. Nothing is too far, not if it gives her control.” - Alexander Holland

Taboos

“Salin was known to be an avid supporter of the Kaylone law against the crossbreeding of alien species. It’s observations like this which the theory of Alexander Morel fathering her child so preposterous.” - The Biography of Salin Arakeer III, By Bevilé Osteo
