S’susth

The s’susth race from Venus-like Epsilon Trianguli Australis-6, 216 light years from Sol in the constellation Triangulum Austale.   S'susth are cold-blooded, reliant upon external heat sources to maintain optimum body temperature, and become much more lethargic on cold planets or the typically frigid halls of space stations and ships.   The shape of the mouth and lips of the s'susth makes humanoid speech difficult. They can all understand universal. Speaking universal is much more difficult, though possible. When speaking uni, "s" sounds, soft "c" sounds, "h" sounds, tend to be elongated. S'susth have a very hard time pronouncing "b", "m", "p", and "v" sounds are almost impossible for them to say because of how their lips work. Because of this, using translators are preferred.

Basic Information

Anatomy

S’susth are long-necked, longer-tailed slender snakelike bipedal reptiles that tend toward bright green or even yellow in colour.

Genetics and Reproduction

S'susth reproduce by laying eggs in clutches. They vigorously hide and protect their eggs. More often than not, a hatchling has no particular attachment to its parents and is raised collectively by the family or local group.

Growth Rate & Stages

S'susth grow slowly their first year. Starting out around a foot tall, if they stood two legs when they are that young. After the first year, they are only about 50-70% larger.   During their first year, they learn to crawl very quickly. They begin to walk on two legs during their second year, during which they grow very quickly. By the time they are about 5 years old, they are full-grown adults.
