Isserdu

Isserdu was once known as Amruk-Mur, the City of Gardens and capital of the Azzartian Empire. When Amruk-Mur was conquered by Isser the Great, it is said the beauty of the city caused him to weep, and order it and its inhabitants to be spared. He took Amruk-Mur peacefully after conquering the surrounding cities, and later Isserites would rename the city after their ancient leader. The great gardens of Amruk-Mur have largely deteriorated over the centuries, as the complex irrigation systems that sustained them are no longer maintained. Some sections, however, have been dutifully cared for by successive generations of Isserite Kings, and thus a shadow of the majesty of Amruk-Mur remains.
While the Isserite Kingdom lacks a formal capital, and its royal court tends to move between cities every generation, Isserdu is still the most populous and culturally significant city within the realm. It also acts as an important trading hub between the Western Realms the distant lands of the east.
