The Wright
The Wright is one of the administrative regions in the Oathed Kingdom, comprised of the realm's eastern Duskwater coast, the Bardholt and the Setting Isles. As one of the largest regions in the Kingdom, it is the dominion of House Clefford of Moss Den, Lords of the Wright. Though formerly the territory of the Anchor Kings, The Wright has been under the Cleffords' bear banner for more than six centuries.
Notable bannermen and noble families include houses Saultrout, Anthurfel, Georn, Tame and Kleid.
The region is notorious for its numerous and particularly busy port-towns which serve the inner Duskwater trade. The waves do lead to foreign harbors eventually, but many ships are built in The Wright and never set sail out of Murk Bay.
Folklore tells us that Murk Bay got its name from the Darkwater's bloodstained water, the product of conquest and plundering. Although the Anchor Kings helped this story come to be, the Blacksun Defiance saw Murk Bay live up to its name.
Much of the grain that feeds the Wright comes from the Vinlands, and much of it sails the Duskwater. Coinciding with the free flow of coin, sheep and ore, is the illegal flow of coin, sheep, and ore. To many pirates, both native and other, The Wright is a beehive, ripe for harvest.
However, bandits and pirates often mistake their cunning for greed, as the Bears of Moss Den have laid eyes on this beehive long before them. Luckily for the realm and less fortunate for Duskwater thieves, the Cleffords bring the gods' justice to all those caught in their reach.
Geography
The region borders The Peaks to the east while Hinteryoak lies to the north. The mainland territories in the Wright include Bardholt and the woodlands south of the Redstraight river, known as the Winewoods. These lands make up the region's coast along Murk Bay, hosting the Duskwater.
The lands along the southern coast make up the rocky shores of Murk Bay.
To the west, across the bay, lie the dense and mountainous Setting Isles. The largest of the islands are Beancove, Great Eye, and the Triad. Although somewhat unforgiving terrain, these islands prove to be great assets in the economy of the Wright.
