Enkh

Enkh is one of the six constituent regions of the Oathed Kingdom, located in its southwestern plains. Like the Holtlands, this Ereenese land was not always a part of the Crown's dominion, having been introduced into the fold nearly three centuries ago after the Bond of Blood. House Norrington rules over Enkh as Lords from their ancient seat in Icegrove.   Notable bannermen and noble families include houses Bran, Slagtooth, Brimstew, Fraughtoaken.   Long before the Age of the Torch and before Lazanth nobles ruled over the eastern lands, Enkh was ruled by the Warrior Kings, atop their Elks in silver armor. For a thousand years, the Ereen lived in their halls of stone and worshiped their idols. As time went on, and as eastern foreigners entered Enkh, the people started slowly accepting their ways. In a few centuries, the royal elks had been almost completely replaced with silvermane horses and the towns resembled their eastern counterparts in both appearance and wealth.   Though their silk robes and newfound belief in the gods suggest the Ereen of the south have abandoned their old ways, not all has been "adjusted". Enkh is still the home of the southern resilience and ferocity - the same tools that kept the Lazanth conquerors of old from laying waste to the lands and putting an end to the Ereenese "savage" ways. Of course, previous hostilities are a thing of history, for Enkh remains a valuable asset to the realm.   Traveling west leads to the end of the realm's borders and the end of lands which Lazanths, or even Ereen, would call familiar. Beyond Hail's Peak lie the Purelands, home of those who didn't kneel to the Crown after the Bond of Blood. No man has traveled very far into the untamed wilderness for nearly three hundred years and none have brought back reliable stories of what lies beyond. The Ereen speak of terrible curses brought upon those who venture into the barbaric lands and some drunken travelers sing of the return of the Elk Kings - silly stories.

Geography

Bordering the South Sea with its large coast and the Purelands to the west, the region is the southwestern frontier of the realm. The inland tundra holds the Infant Lake in its eastern lands which stretch out to meet the Vinlands and Holtlands at Meadow's Clearing.   The northern forest thickens up as the border with the Holtlands is reached, meeting its end at the Rib Lakes.
