Deepwood Garth
Deepwood Garth is the home and seat of House Lysander, Lords of the Holtlands. Before the Bond of Blood, this redbrick castle was the keep from which the ancestors of the Lysanders, House Bloom, ruled over the thick woodland.
Eastern merchants often find their way here, enamored by the town's clean walkways and serene atmosphere. Many scholars refer to Deepwood Garth as "the Oyster". Beautiful ivory statues brighten the castle walls, beckoning any approaching travelers with their warm figure. Although the streets and inns are a welcome sight to all, the high walls of the inner keep separate the Lysander halls from the rest of the town.
The gates to the castle seldom open to those who aren't summoned. Inside lie the Lords' gardens, filled with rows of red, black and white roses between lines of redberry bushes. Flowered paths leads to the great halls and the famous Rose Keep. Another layer of Deepwood Garth is said to exist under the keep. The Lords have often answered the curiosities of librarians - this is where their family's grand cellar resides, housing their prized redberry wine. In fact, the Lysanders take such great pride in their work, that they often pour out the imperfections, whole harvests worth of wine, into the canals.
Sometimes, the purest blood red wine can be seen streaming down into the Songriver, dyeing the waters a faint rosewood red.
