However, after his brother contracted a wasting disease in the flea-bitten boroughs of Port D'Courre, Bexley quickly burned through their meagre savings and ran up a sizeable debt hiring all manner of physicians to treat his brother's condition. Facing destitution, Bexley was forced to go looking for a wealthy patron... and found himself in the service of Gethin Sandoreale.
Time and fate would lead Bexley to be entwined in the search for the last blood descendant of the late Eadvard III, Mair Dillestone, at the behest of his patron Gethin. Working alongside fellow agent Drosta, Bexley was investigating Lonsley Manor when he crossed paths with operatives of House Ildrafn, including Kain Unknown, Jarvin Cadwalader and Roan Cordelaine. The two groups opted to combine their efforts to locate the missing heir, but the alliance only lasted until their goal was in sight. Unbeknownst to Drosta, Bexley sent a missive to Gethin advising of their progress, and the head of House Sandoreale sent a dozen cutthroats to assist Bexley in securing the heir and eliminating any who got in their way. The first on that list of targets was none other than Roan, whom Bexley harboured a deep distrust for ever since the fop's influence over rats and vermin became apparent. A devoutly religious man bearing several tattoos of The Six Saints, Bexley believed Roan's presence to be akin to blasphemy, leading him to brutally murder the man in the back alleys of Castle Cole.
Despite having the advantage in numbers, however, Bexley and his agents were unable to secure the heir of Banteave during the massacre at Castle Cole.
