Scope
The motivation behind building The Keepers
The Keepers is a world built upon a dark high fantasy series I started writing in high school but never got around to finishing. This is my ode to that.
The goal of the project
I want to finish writing the trilogy I started over 10 years ago, and explore new facets within the world.
The Keepers's Unique Selling point
Crown of Feathers meets The Summoner Trilogy, where magick and life intertwine as one connected unit.
Theme
Genre
High fantasy with dark themes.
Reader Experience
I want the readers to think the world is safe and not as bad as the "rumors" claim it to be. But underneath that safety bubble, there are dark, unyielding dangers that can easily destroy everything the reader believes to be true.
Reader Tone
The world needs to seem fluffy and bright on the outside, but the underbelly is dark and gritty, ready to swallow the heroes into an everlasting sea of evil.
Recurring Themes
- Ravens flying about or perched and watching.
- Gems that look pristine but harbor cracks or chips in them.
- Black phoenixes representing evil and the dangers of unknown magick.
Character Agency
The hero characters can change the world, but there are chances that the world can surprise you.
