The Town Hall

At the central plaza of Old Town, several notable buildings stand, the most impressive being the The Temple of Waukeen. Relatively unassuming however, is the tastefully detailed wooden structure of the Town Hall. Constructed of a dark, reddish wood with dull golden patterns flourishing the boundaries between floors, it is a large structure and obviously important, but it doesn't make the same impression from the outside as some of the more mercantile or religious buildings do with their appearances.
The Town Hall holds several important areas for the functioning of the city. The eponymous hall is large enough to fit several hundred people, though seldom used and now far too small for any actual town gathering - the plaza outside would be used in these instances. There is a courtroom for the trying of cases (see: The Trial of Nowhere for the most notable example), and numerous small offices for conducting business for the town and for the sundry staff who help administer the town's affairs - business grants, land ownership, construction projects and so on. The city treasury is rumoured to be here, though few have ever reported actually seeing a vault. And then there is the Council Chambers, often thought of as Aurelia's office given how much time she spends there, and formerly the office of Viscount Willum Daffles.
