Aurelia is an Aasimar woman of talent, grace and sagacity, and without doubt the most well-know figure in Daring Heights having founded the town along with Viscount Willum Daffles. Aurelia met Viscount Daffles many years ago when they were both quite young, both children of nobility and privilege, and they have been fast friends ever since. Researching her Aasimar heritage, Aurelia's wizarding studies had naturally focused on the planes and the magic of portals, a focus which had led to the fateful expedition where she and Daffles discovered the portal to Kantas.
Following the disappearance of Mayor Daffles, her oldest friend, she consented to be a part of the newly formed Council overseeing Daring in his absence as one of the most respected citizens in the township. She has continued in this position, and tends to be the member most focused on the day-to-day running of the city. Additionally, in order to further research into the strange lands of Kantas, she founded the Daring Academy to bring scholars from across Faerun and Kantas together.
Assigning herself from Day 1 with the duty of maintaining the portal, Aurelia is a planar scholar and experienced adventurer through her quests to discover the mysteries the multiverse holds. Kind-hearted but decidedly isolated, she lives in a house next to the portal, which she at once guards, operates and studies. Recently, given the ever-increasing demands on her time with the Council and the Academy, she has begun to delegate this guardianship and operation to members of the Academy.
The portal itself is, of course, the very core of the city - its founding mystery and the reason Daring Heights makes such an attractive mercantile opportunity. One of the first things Aurelia did when plans were drawn up for the town was to establish a permanent teleportation circle around the portal, which for a time made things much easier to transport back and forth. Since the portal itself was largely sealed, her work has become much more demanding as she spends much of her magical prowess sending people back and forth across the multiverse from Daring Heights, hence the need for delegation.
Aurelia's home was initially a modest affair - a small townhouse in the centre of town. However, following the intervention of Mavis Thovian and their Makeover Project, her house was significantly upgraded into an elegant building resembling a small tower, bedecked with balconies and drapes (see a full tour in the video bottom right). Mavis and team upgraded her entire wardrobe as well, and people have noticed the obvious uplift in her demeanour - more confident in all of her roles thanks to the support of the whole community.
The other constant in Aurelia's life over the last few years has been the presence of an apprentice or ward - initially in the form of Jenna Archselon, a young abandoned girl who needed magical guidance due to her sorcerous abilities. Jenna lived with Aurelia for several years, learning magecraft and taking over much of the Portal responsibilities before moving to Fort Ettin. Now, Aurelia has a new ward named Sabrina. Rumours of Sabrina's lichdom and centuries of age are almost certainly exaggerated.
