Common Races

Dwarves

Dwarves were among the first mortals to be spawned in the world, around the year -450. They have always had a fondness for the dirt and rock itself. They became excellent miners, creating magnificent underground kingdoms and became very rich in the process. They are strong, intelligent, and have a warm heart, within their cold exterior, for those they care about.

Elves

Elves shortly followed the Dwarves, being first seen around -390. They, instead of being attracted to the rock, were intrigued by this new world's inner workings. They became scholars, researchers, and explorers. They posses a wicked intellect, and have become some of the best spell casters. Not to mention, they formed the most majestic and powerful kingdom Etherlen has ever seen, the Kingdom of Aelen.

Humans

A few centuries after the Elves came the Humans, in the year -120. Humans are an odd one out compared to their predecessors. They did not excel in any particular attribute, but they had an enormous curiosity and power of will. Their greatest leaders would range from the truest of goods to the darkest of evils. They can truly become whatever they wish, and can excel in any area.

Half Elves

A consequence of humans and elves mating, a half-elf gains both the best and worst of either. They are quite intelligent and also tend to be very charismatic. In the past they have made excellent diplomats between Human and Elven kingdoms because of their dual lineage. They might not be quite as bright as an elf, or as much of a wild card as a human; however, they are a nice blend of the two.

Gnomes appeared in the year 266. They are small but fierce and passionate folk. Intelligent and wise, they have a natural curiosity to explore and learn. They are friendly and meet new faces with open arms.
