Education

At the behest of his influential parents, Azerdyne was enrolled in the Nova Cerulis at the age of twelve. Academically, Azerdyne transcended his fellow students, quietly becoming the most astute of his fellows in nearly all subjects. Socially, he failed significantly, making nearly no friends and quickly becoming the object of ridicule for his strange mannerisms and massive success above his tormentors. He spent ten years being educated there in various academic and mystic arts before finally discovering an affinity for scientific endeavors. So much did he excel that upon his commencement from the Nova Cerulis, he was offered a research position within their chemical laboratory, a position he took immediately to escape the derision of his classmates.

Employment

Throughout the time he was in the Nova Cerulis, Azerdyne lived and paid his way exclusively on the massive wealth of his parents, not having to work at all aside from his schooling. When offered the research position at the academy, he jumped on the opportunity to further his knowledge, pursue personal endeavors, and make a bit of personal coin. At first, the Nova Cerulis chemists and alchemists asked him only to do simple tasks but as he consistently exceeded their expectations, more responsibility was added to his portion, often keeping him up into the deep of night. Azerdyne didn't care though, this was his dream and as time continued he moved further and further up the ranks, getting his own office, than an assistant, and finally a personal laboratory. Once attaining the position of Head Alchemist his work shifted to more personal tasks; exploration and potential exploitation of emotions, something he had always found himself struggling to understand. His fellow scientists worked in ignorance of this hobby for a time before stumbling upon an experiment involving Azerdyne and a young woman from the town near the academy. Perceiving the situation incorrectly, Azerdyne was berated and asked to step down from his position, which he accepted. For a time he lived unemployed and simply thought. After two years he returned and asked for a second chance which he was granted, once again returning to his laboratory and the work he had been forced to abandon, this time with much more care for secrecy. To this day he continues to do the bidding of the Nova Cerulis headmaster as well as covertly practice and perfect his emotional alchemy, and quite successfully.

Accomplishments & Achievements

Azerdyne graduated at the top of his class at the Nova Cerulis each year that he attended earning maximum marks in mathematics, astronomy, and particularly science. He barely counted this as success but earning the position in the Nova Cerulis research laboratory carried a significant amount of pride of achievement for him. His eventual success in designing his pair of elemental congealed emotion rings is what brought him the most pride, proving the caution and scorn of his colleagues to be folly.

Mental Trauma

Azerdyne, while unknown to himself, falls on the autism spectrum causing him to speak sometimes in quick, loud bursts among other strange mannerisms. His autism developed into paranoia due to the bullying that he underwent throughout his schooling and, once he began to delve into alchemy, turned him quickly into a sociopath. Working so much with emotions, as well as the confusion caused by his general poor mental health, has caused him to sometimes succumb to a single emotion at a time causing outbursts of anger or sadness or uncontrollable happiness.

Intellectual Characteristics

Azerdyne studied very hard throughout school and, while his generally obsessive nature was a thorn in some situations, he was able to memorize well in his schooling and maintain high standards. A well rounded enough student, Azerdyne enjoyed praise for his high level of intelligence but never more so than when it came to his aptitude for the scientific discipline.
