Shiekah Ethnicity in The Hylian Fantasy | World Anvil

Shiekah

We have long been the shadow of goddess's children. Always watching over them, protecting them. This will not stop.
An ethnicity of Hylian, the Shiekah are a quiet, secretive group who may be the most devout practitioners of the ancient faiths alive today. Most are defined by their ink-black hair which turns a misty silver in adulthood. Facial markings are used by the wode group as class identifiers, though most fall under either the clerical class or that of the guardians.

An Advanced People

Ten milenia ago the Shiekah had developed advanced technology capable of twisting time, creating energy, and even controlling temperatures. All of this was fueled by a Blue Flame that the ancients managed to tap into. At the time the Darkness Ganon had been on a recurring font of destruction. To help keep the evil at bay, four great machines called Divine Beasts were built, as well as thousands of automated Guardians. While Shiekah were able to end the arrival of Ganon, sealing him away for nearly an eon, the Hylians grew fearful of the secretive people an their vast army of automations. All of the Divine Beasts and Guardians were deactivated and buried deep under ground and the Shiekah sent into exile.   In time, the exiled Shiekah splintered. Those that left the primary group became a tribe of vengeful, maurauding thieves, known as the Yiga.
