The Lucky Hound - Casino

Located in the Land District of Krakonia City , and owned by The Scouts Guild of Krakonia(SGK) , The Lucky Hound is a government-sanctioned casino available to the general public. Many of the earnings from the casino go directly to the SGK's efforts to fund their exploration programs, including paying for scouts and purchasing exploration logs, and since this is a casino, there's little worry about turning a profit. Managed mainly by the supervisor, Valerie Faustina , this casino is the go-to place for all sorts of entertainment, including live performances, a large selection of alcohol, and many different, unique ways to lose one's money on ill-advised wagers. Since it is government-owned, the casino is considered the safest place to gamble, since they will cut citizens off if they suspect they're wasting too much of their money. This is far from a fool-proof policy, but simply knowing that the staff is meant to keep an eye on that sort of thing is enough for many people to spend their money guilt-free.

The same conspiracists that talk about the spies within the SGK also believe that The Lucky Hound has a secret side, which makes sense, since it's a casino, and casinos are generally known for dubious practices on the best of days. The current theory is that this particular casino was designed to keep suspicious people all entertained and comfortable so that they let slip important information to spies nearby. Members of the SGK do often go to the casino, despite not having any specific work at the location. Many find it suspicious that the SGK has a proportionally larger amount of its own people gambling their lives away than any other faction in the city. There's no official benefit to gambling as an SGK member, although it could be as simple as SGK members liking to get their free drink, and then staying for the other entertainment.

The casino itself is quite extravagent, with gold lining the furniture and massive, beautiful golden sculptures along the walls, beside large, masterful paintings hanging along the walls, all courtesy of a partnership with The Artists Guild of Krakonia(ARGK) . Red carpet covers the floor, and despite all the drunken rabble about, there's enough cleaning staff on standby to make sure that carpet remains spotless at any given time. Employees are all dressed fancily, with the cleaning staff all wearing frilly maid outfits, and those working the gambling tables or serving drinks wearing tight, black suits. There's also always someone performing on a large stage in the back of the establishment, with live music enchanted to fill the entire building regardless of where one is situated. The performers are remarkably well-dressed, regardless of their performance style, with a wide variety of moderation. Generally the performers get more promiscuous at night, as more and more patrons come in and fill their bellies with all kinds of exotic brews. Many will find entertainment due to the excessive culture alone, not even partaking in any of the actual gambling or drinking that one expects to do in a casino. The Lucky Hound, all in all, is an impressive, entertaining place to be, and as such, is always bustling with crowds of civilians all day and night. It is by this design that many gamblers lose track of the hours and even, on occasion, the days, while their senses are dulled by an abundance of stimuli all around them.

It should be noted that there are always SGK members on staff at any given time whose sole job is to monitor the casino to make sure no one is cheating. It is difficult to pinpoint which employees these are, as they're often disguised as other, normal employees, but each patron is warned when they start gambling that cheating will be noticed, and it is punishable by serious fines, and in some cases, jail time.
