alTajari'amir

alTajariʾamir is a mid‑level mercantile title within the Merchant Republic of Sahraʾ. Literally “Merchant Prince,” an alTajariʾamir has demonstrated considerable commercial success by sponsoring at least three Kabīra al‑Taajir or ten Harfiūn and al‑Taajir apprentices. Positioned above junior traders (al‑Taajir) and senior merchants (Kabīra al‑Taajir) but below the hereditary Grand Merchant Princes (Kabīra al‑Tujaara’amīr), alTajariʾamir occupy a crucial intermediary role in Sahraʾ’s economy and social order.

Holders of the alTajariʾamir title oversee regional trade networks, underwrite large‐scale caravans, and mentor emerging merchants and artisans. They negotiate bulk contracts for spices, textiles, and metals, enforce fair pricing within their spheres of influence, and contribute to the governance of tent‑city bazaars surrounding their palaces. Through marriage alliances and commercial sponsorships, alTajariʾamir often ascend to the rank of Kabīra al‑Tujaara’amīr, shaping the long‑term fiscal policy and political stability of the republic.
