History
Religion
In Perlis, the predominant and culturally significant religion is the worship of the goddess Nyissa, followed by the Disciples of Nyissa. Nyissa is revered as the goddess of peace and the ocean, and her followers, primarily traveling healers, hold a respected and influential position within the society. The Disciples of Nyissa contribute significantly to healthcare, providing healing services and promoting peace across the nation.
Apart from Nyissa worship, historical remnants of the now-dead deity Velene are scattered in abandoned temples. While Velene no longer has active worshippers, the historical impact of love and beauty worship continues to influence cultural norms and aesthetics in Perlis.
The religious landscape is relatively tolerant, allowing people from diverse backgrounds to practice their beliefs without prejudice. However, the overarching cultural influence of Nyissa worship and the positive contributions of the Disciples of Nyissa give this faith a central place in Perlisian society. Other religions exist within Perlis, but they hold smaller followings and coexist harmoniously with the dominant faith, contributing to the nation's cultural diversity.
Education
Free State Education
The state sponsors a comprehensive and accessible education system, providing free education to all citizens. This commitment ensures that learning is not restricted by financial barriers, promoting equal opportunities for everyone.
Arts Academy
Perlis boasts a prominent Arts Academy, fostering creativity and artistic expression. Students have the opportunity to delve into various forms of art, including music, dance, visual arts, and magical arts, creating a nurturing environment for aspiring artists.
Apprenticeship Tradition
While formal education is available, many individuals choose the path of apprenticeship under skilled craftsmen. This tradition promotes hands-on learning, preserving and passing down artisanal skills from one generation to the next.
Disciples of Nyissa Healing Academies
Specialized academies run by the Disciples of Nyissa focus on healing arts and medical sciences. These institutions train individuals to become traveling healers, contributing to the well-being of communities across Perlis and beyond.
